We must pay attention to it also in terms of understanding its meaning and contemplating the lessons it points to. Allah said about the Qur'an in generel: {Do they not then consider the Qur'an carefully?} (Quran 4:82) We must apply what this verse signifies, in terms if being sincere to Allah, gloryfying Him ,establishing His Oneness, ad staying away from associating partners with Him in worship. This blessed and great verse requires from us that we live with it, always giving it our full attention, so that we can eat from its blessed fruits. The great benefits of this verse are gained, both in this life and the Hereafter, by those who recite it contemplate it, and apply it. Then what is the case regarding the greatest verse in the Book of Allah? It is related in Saheeh Muslim on the authority of Ubai ibn Ka'ab. He said: "The Messenger of Allah said to me, 'O Abdul-Mundhir, which verse from the Book of Allah, from what you have with you [in your memory], is the greatest? ' I said, 'Allah and his Messenger know best.' He said, 'O Ubai (or,Abdul-Mundhir'), which verse from the Book of Allah, from what you have with you [in your memory], is the greatest? I said, 'The Kursi verse: {Allah! None gas the right to be worshipped but He, the Ever Living, the with his hand on my hest said, 'By Allah, you are favoured ith knowledge, O Abdul-Mundhir.'" Ibn Al-Qayyim said in his Book Zaad Al-Ma'aad, "I heard Shaikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah - may Allah have mercy on him say, 'I have never neglected [reciting] it after each Prayer.'
