Description
Ruqyah (divine cure) is best done by a person for himself as this entails complete and direct reliance upon Allah, who is the Healer (Ash-Shafi).
It is performed by reciting the Qur'an, blowing into your hands and wiping your body, and with supplications and cures from the Sunnah that will remove the affliction, insha-Allah.
The Prophet () said, "70,000 from my Ummah will enter Paradise without any reckoning-they are those who do not seek Ruqyah, nor do they see evil omens in things and they put their trust in their Lord.
" (Bukhari #6472) In a narration, he () said, "My Lord has promised me that 70,000 of my Ummah will enter Paradise without accounting and without being punished.
Along with each thousand, another 70,000 will enter and then three Handfuls of my Lord." (Ibn Majah #4286) Performing Ruqyah for yourself does not prevent you from being among these 70,000.
Likewise, if a person makes Ruqyah upon someone else without them asking, it does not exclude them either-walhamdulillah.
